My Top Free Blogging Platforms

Long-form content will win, always.

I started using Twitter five years ago. I also used Reddit for a long time.

But it wasn't a blogging platform I was looking for.

Many advised me to go with WordPress or another self-hosted site. I bought the domain and everything needed to run it.

But here’s the catch.

Instead of spending my time creating content, I was pouring my energy and time into designing and site management.

And I hated every bit of it.

I am a solopreneur. I run my business completely on my own. I am sure many can relate to that.

Content creation takes 2–3 days, sometimes more, to create
Product creation takes more time
research, SEO, and so on
marketing
Not to forget that every writer has multiple side hustles. Means more social media accounts to handle.
So I started looking for another option where I don’t have to deal with all this stuff.

All I wanted to dedicate my time to was writing. That's it.

No designing. No site management. Nothing.

So I cancelled all of my subscriptions for my site and started searching for more better option.

I tried more than 5+ blogging platforms before finally settling on Medium.
spent 4–5 months finding the right option.

I always thought all platforms were basically the same. I mean, you write and hit publish. There is nothing more to do. But with time, I actually realized that the right platforms can make a big impact on my writing business.

When you hit the right platform, your business grows much faster compared to others.

And above this, I want to pick one and stick to it. I am not a fan of changing my tech stacks.

I still use the same tools I used 5 years ago.

I still use the same software for my writing business.

It’s always been difficult for me to change after I have grown accustomed to it.
Threads — I wrote an article on this platform. I mentioned that I am not going to use this platform ever. But seeing others making money from Threads made me curious. And I made an account there 5 months ago. I hit my 1 million views in under one month. Haven’t monetized it yet, but I will soon update on this.
